I worked nonstop last month with my nonprofit org., providing over seventy underprivileged kids a coat who would otherwise not have one who live in the projects of East Nashville. I was exhausted! I am now in Cabo San Lucas, MX, where I am also working with my nonprofit, catching up on rest and exercising daily. I had a talk with a new friend here yesterday who agreed with me about eating right when traveling. She travels the same way I do in making it a point to continue to eat right and take care of herself on any vacation. No matter where I am, eating right is crucial to my energy. This morning I had a beautiful woman stop me and ask me how I stay fit. I told her that I drink four liters of water per day, stay busy and do not eat much; when I eat I want to use the calories well. I also told her that I greatly enjoy every single bite that I eat. I have been back to getting to bed early and up for the sunrise most every morning, and it is the best life on earth, especially when I am surrounded here by others who complain of hangovers and not feeling well. They have an “all inclusive” plan here every year where for 500.00 a week per person (not room), just one person can eat or drink as much as he or she wants for 500.00 that week. Most people take this. Personally, I have learned through the years that it pays off for me in the end to choose feeling well over letting myself go to the point most do when traveling. I am no alcoholic in that I can enjoy just one glass of wine without any urge to continue, but at the same time, I really can be happy without it at all. I have never had a hangover a day of my life, thank God, and I have a memory that is very sharp as a result. I also prefer good sleep over wine, which is known for keeping people from sleeping. I get healthy groceries away from the resort where I am staying and do not eat out here daily. I end up spending less money on food than when I am in America. Here’s to healthy travel!
