I walked 9-11 miles per day around NYC, sharing the message from Harlem down to NYU that “God is love, not genocide” last Sept. As I stay busy, I often intermittent fast (not eating past lunch for at least 24-48 hours). I also eat small snacks when I am not intermittent fasting to keep the calories low overall per day.

I have also discovered that a swig of raw olive oil is amazing in the mornings to keep the body alkaline, but it has to be organic enough for me to feel a tingle in my throat as I swallow. It is also great for the gut and combatting allergies. I continue to get to do what I love, and my heart stays filled up from my music, podcasts and helping others through the work of my nonprofit (not affiliated with any political party).

I never crave sugar or carbs, and it is the most freeing thing to get to eat whatever I want, when all I want is something healthy.
